About
“I believe that communities thrive when everyone's perspectives and voices are heard.”
Sierra Wicks-Irving is a 24-year-old licensed practical nurse who was born and raised in Saanich. Her experience in healthcare shapes her commitment to practical, people-centred leadership.
Inspired by her sister and her community advocacy, Sierra wants residents—especially vulnerable and underrepresented people—to be heard in the decisions that shape their neighbourhoods.
Priorities
Sierra's priorities reflect her experience as a nurse, advocate, and lifelong member of the Saanich community.
Ensuring people with disabilities have a direct voice in the decisions that affect their lives and communities.
Advocating for preventative health initiatives and making Saanich more welcoming to healthcare workers and clinics.
Supporting more attainable housing options while protecting mature trees, natural lands, and local wildlife.
Bringing community voices back into council chambers through open forums, town halls, and meaningful consultation.
A short message
Sierra is running to give a voice to people who do not feel heard and to build a Saanich where community members are informed, consulted, and included in the decisions that affect them.
